I have always been interested in working with special needs students. I came across this http://www.kinderart.com/ website and I think it is great. It has lesson plans and activities that have proven success with students or adults with disabilities. The lesson plans are all well laid out with clear objectives, as well being easy lessons to follow. Some lesson plans have links to other aspects of the curriculum enabling students to make a connection. At the bottom of the site there are links to other resources.
The picture I attached is done by Rebecca, age 10. This picture is done in the lesson plan that looks at emotions. This lesson covers the various emotions students may feel. After a discussion the students are free to paint their own emotions and students then have a chance to look at each others painting and interpret them!

Hi Sarah, I definitely should have read your blog before I posted on my own! I also made a post about Kinderart. I guess the more people who know the better! I love how most of the art lessons were sent in by actual teachers who tested them out!
Great minds think alike Christine!!! That is awesome that we both found the site and enjoyed it. It is great that the lessons are actually used and have feedback.
